Okay, so let’s talk about this “Capricorn Sun, Virgo Rising” thing. I’m no astrology expert, but I got curious about my own chart and, well, one thing led to another, and I ended up diving deep into this combination.

First, I figured out my rising sign. You need your birth time for this, which, thankfully, I had from my mom. Turns out, I’m a Virgo Rising. I always kinda knew I had that meticulous, detail-oriented vibe, so it made sense.
Then, I started reading about what it means to have a Capricorn Sun and a Virgo Rising. My birthday falls under Capricorn, so that part was easy. Basically, from what I’ve gathered, it’s like this:
Capricorn Sun Stuff
- Hardworking: Yep, that’s me. I’ve always been driven to achieve my goals. Sometimes too much, maybe.
- Responsible: I’m the one friends call when they need help. Always have been.
- Disciplined: I can stick to a schedule like glue.
- Reserved: It can be difficult for me.I don’t open up to everyone, for sure.
Virgo Rising Stuff
- Analytical: I overthink everything. Seriously, everything.
- Practical: I like to keep things grounded and real.
- Helpful: Just like with the Capricorn Sun.I get satisfaction from providing practical solutions.
- Critical: Of myself, mostly. I’m my own worst critic, no joke.
So, when you put them together, it felt like a lot.I noticed how it all kind of amplified each other. The Capricorn drive plus the Virgo attention to detail? It explains why I can spend hours tweaking a spreadsheet or planning a project down to the minute. It also means I can be pretty hard on myself when things aren’t “perfect,” which, let’s be honest, is most of the time.
I began journaling about it. I just started writing down how I felt each day, and if I noticed any of these Capricorn or Virgo traits popping up. It was pretty eye-opening. I saw how my need for control (Capricorn) mixed with my anxiety about details (Virgo) could make me stressed about silly things.
Then, I tried to be more mindful. I started to be intentional about doing stuff. Like, if I found myself getting overwhelmed by a project, I’d take a step back and ask myself, “Is this perfectionism talking, or is this actually important?” More often than not, it was the perfectionism.
It’s still a work in progress. I’m not suddenly all chill and relaxed. But understanding this Capricorn Sun, Virgo Rising combo has helped me understand myself a little better. It’s like having a roadmap to my own quirks and tendencies. And that, I think, is pretty cool.
