Okay, so the other day I decided to do a future tarot spread for myself, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride! I’ve dabbled in tarot before, but this was my first time really trying to get a glimpse into what might be coming down the pipeline.

First things first, I got myself in the zone. I lit some candles, put on some chill music, and shuffled my deck. I mean, you gotta set the mood, right? Then, I thought long and hard about what I wanted to know about my future. I decided to keep it broad cause, let’s be real, who knows what’s gonna happen!
My Steps
- Shuffle the cards: I shuffled the cards while thinking about the questions that I had in mind. I did this for a few minutes until I felt like it was time to stop.
- Cut the deck: I cut the deck into three piles with my left hand. Then, I restacked the deck into one pile.
- Lay out the cards: I started pulling cards one by one from the top of the deck and placing them face down in the spread. I chose a simple three-card spread representing the past, present, and future.
- Turn over the cards: Once all the cards were laid out, I turned them over one by one, starting with the past, then the present, and finally the future.
I pulled three cards and laid them out in a row, you know, the classic past, present, future setup. The first card, the one on the left, that’s supposed to represent the past. I got the “Past” card and the card that I got really resonated with what I’ve been through lately. It was like the cards were saying, “Yeah, we see you, girl.”
Then I moved on to the middle card, the present. And honestly, it was pretty spot-on. It showed some challenges I’m dealing with right now, but also some strengths I can lean on. It was a good reminder that I’m not helpless in my current situation.
Finally, the third card, the future. Now, this one was a bit more cryptic. It wasn’t a super clear “this is going to happen” kind of card. More like a potential outcome based on the path I’m on now. It was kind of exciting, but also a little nerve-wracking. I’ll tell ya what, it got me thinking about the choices I’m making and where I want to end up.
After I laid out all the cards, I spent some time just looking at them, reading the descriptions in the little booklet that came with my deck, and thinking about how they might apply to my life. It wasn’t like a lightbulb moment, but more of a slow dawning of understanding. It helped me figure out that I shouldn’t expect to get a concrete answer and that I should rely on my intuition and feelings when it comes to interpreting the cards.
I ended up writing down my thoughts in my journal, just to process everything. I mean, tarot isn’t about predicting the future with 100% accuracy, at least not for me. But it’s a great tool for self-reflection and getting some clarity on where you’re at and where you might be headed. It’s like a mirror reflecting back your own thoughts and feelings. I gotta say, I’m definitely going to do another future spread soon. It’s a fun way to check in with myself and see what the universe might have in store for me. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get a clearer picture next time!
