Okay, so I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately. I’m not trying to tell the future or anything, but it’s kind of a fun way to think about things, you know? But there are, like, a million cards, and remembering what they all mean is a pain. So I decided to make a cheat sheet.

Getting Started
First, I grabbed my tarot deck. I’ve had this thing for a while, but I never really used it much. Then I looked online for some basic meanings. There’s tons of stuff out there, a lot of people are into this stuff, but it’s kind of overwhelming. Some people seemed pretty serious, talking about psychic readings and stuff like that, but that’s not really my scene.
Making the Cheat Sheet
I decided to keep it simple. I went through each card and wrote down a few keywords. For example, for The Fool, I wrote “new beginnings, innocence, taking a risk.” For The Magician, I put “manifestation, resourcefulness, power.” It was a bit tedious, but I figured it would be worth it in the long run.
Then I organized my notes. I divided the cards into the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana, just like all the websites said to do. And I made separate sections for each suit in the Minor Arcana – you know, Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. I tried different formats, but I ended up using bullet points. Just seemed the easiest to read quickly.
- Major Arcana: These are the big, important cards, like The Emperor, The Lovers, and Death. I wrote a bit more for these, trying to capture the main idea of each card.
- Wands: This suit is all about passion, creativity, and energy. My notes for these were pretty action-oriented.
- Cups: This is the emotional suit, dealing with feelings, relationships, and intuition. My notes here were more about feelings and moods.
- Swords: This suit is about intellect, thoughts, and communication. I focused on the mental aspects here.
- Pentacles: This suit deals with the material world, money, and career. My notes for these were more practical.
Using the Cheat Sheet
Now, when I do a reading, I can just glance at my cheat sheet. It’s so much easier than trying to remember everything. I’m not trying to become some kind of expert, but it’s a nice way to explore the cards and see what they might mean in different situations. Some people say the best way to learn is to do tons of readings, and I can see that. I’ve been pulling cards for different questions, even silly ones, just to see what comes up. A couple of websites I looked at talked about tarot being super forbidden, but I don’t know about all that. For me, it’s just a fun little hobby. I’m not trying to predict the future or anything. It’s more like a way to think about things from a different perspective.
It has been a fulfilling experience so far. I recommend making a cheat sheet to whoever is interested in tarot cards!
