Today I wanna share something about my latest experiment – I tried to do a reading with the “Death and the Devil” tarot combination. I’ve always been into tarot cards, but I never really tried to do something more serious like this, so this was a new experience for me.

First things first, I did a little research. Turns out, the Death card doesn’t actually mean someone’s gonna die. It’s more about big changes and new beginnings. Then there’s the Devil card, which sounds kinda scary, but it’s more about feeling trapped or dealing with some bad habits. So, putting them together, it seemed like it could be about some big life changes and some inner struggles.
The Setup
I started the process by laying down a cozy blanket on the floor. Lit up some candles, put on some chill music. I just wanted to get into the right headspace, you know? Then, I took out my tarot deck. I shuffled them a few times, thinking about what I wanted to ask the cards. I decided to do a simple three-card spread – past, present, and future.
The Reading
When I flipped the cards, boom! Death and the Devil were right there, along with the Fool card. I pulled the Fool for the past, the Devil for the present and the Death for the future. I was like, “Whoa, that’s heavy.” The Fool card, from what I remembered, is all about new beginnings and taking a leap of faith. So, I took that to mean I’ve been kinda starting fresh lately. Then, the Devil card in the present position. That felt spot on. I’ve been feeling a bit stuck lately, maybe a little too caught up in some not-so-great habits. It felt like the cards were calling me out. I even took a moment to think about it.
And then there’s the Death card for the future. Instead of freaking out, I remembered what I read earlier. It’s not about actual death, but about transformation. It felt like the cards were saying, “Hey, big changes are coming, and they’re gonna be a bit scary, but they’re necessary.” It was a bit of a relief, to be honest.
Afterthoughts
After the reading, I spent some time just sitting there, thinking about everything. I wrote down some notes in my journal, just to get my thoughts out. The whole experience was pretty intense, but in a good way. It felt like I got some clarity on what’s going on in my life right now and what might be coming up.
- Takeaway 1: Change is inevitable. The Death card isn’t something to fear. It’s a reminder that life is all about cycles and transformations.
- Takeaway 2: Face your demons. The Devil card isn’t about being evil. It’s about acknowledging the things that are holding you back and working to overcome them.
- Takeaway 3: Tarot is a tool for self-reflection. It’s not about predicting the future with 100% accuracy. It’s more about gaining insights into yourself and your life.
I know it sounds a bit out there, but this tarot reading really gave me a lot to think about. It’s like a little nudge from the universe, telling me to pay attention to what’s happening around me and inside me. I’m definitely gonna keep exploring tarot. It’s a cool way to get in touch with yourself and maybe even figure out some stuff along the way. I encourage you to have a try too if you are interested.
