So, I got this idea the other day to do something with astrology and Christmas, since it’s, like, that time of the year, you know? I mean, I’m not a huge astrology buff or anything, but I’ve got friends who are, and I thought it might be fun to mess around with it. Plus, everyone’s always scrambling for gift ideas, so maybe I could kill two birds with one stone. I started by just googling “astrology Christmas gifts” to see what’s out there. Found a bunch of articles and stuff about gift ideas for different zodiac signs. Nothing really caught my eye.

Then, I figured, why not try to make something myself? It will be more special, right? But I didn’t want to do just anything, I had to come up with a plan first. I’m thinking, like, personalized Christmas ornaments or something. So I went down this rabbit hole of reading about each sign, their traits, what they supposedly like and don’t like. Aries, for example, are all about experiences, not things. Okay, noted. I’ve got to think about that, I jotted down all the things about Aries in my notebook.
Next, I moved on to Taurus. These guys, I read, are into luxury, comfort. Makes sense, they’re ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty and love. So for Taurus, I started thinking about maybe a comfy, luxurious blanket with their constellation on it. I’ve also got to do some sketching for this, just to see how it looks. I sketched a bull, for the symbol of Taurus, surrounded by stars. Not bad, but needs work. I spent a good hour just refining the sketch, erasing, redrawing. It’s starting to look pretty decent, if I do say so myself.
Gemini was next. They’re the social butterflies, communicators. Hmm, maybe a custom phone case with their constellation? Or a journal? I decided to design a phone case. I sketched out the Gemini twins, added some stars around them, and thought, “This could work.” I even played around with different colors, using my colored pencils, finally settling on a deep blue background with silver stars. It looked pretty slick.
- Aries: Not into “things”, so maybe something experience-based.
- Taurus: Luxury, comfort, ruled by Venus.
- Gemini: Social, communicative, maybe a custom phone case?
And so I went, sign by sign. I spent hours researching, sketching, making notes. For Cancer, I thought of a cozy, homey theme – maybe a constellation mug. Leo, being all dramatic and center-stage, needed something flashy. I sketched out a design for a tote bag with a bold Leo constellation. Virgo, the practical one, maybe a planner with their constellation subtly embossed on the cover. I even started looking into how to actually make these things. Like, for the ornaments, I’d need some clear glass balls, some paint, maybe glitter. For the blankets, I’d need to find a place that does custom printing on fabric. It was becoming a whole project, bigger than I initially thought.
It was a whole process of trial and error. Some sketches looked amazing, others, not so much. I had to redo the Scorpio design like three times because I just couldn’t get the scorpion to look right. I even thought about quitting a couple of times, especially when I realized how much work it would be to actually produce these things. But I kept pushing. I started reaching out to some crafty friends for advice. One of them suggested using clay instead of glass for the ornaments, which was a game-changer. Easier to work with, less fragile. And they also knew someone who could help with the fabric printing.
I’ve been working on these for a couple of weeks now. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, with lots of ups and downs. But you know what? I’m actually pretty proud of how they’re turning out. I’ve managed to create these unique, personalized gifts that are actually pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I’ve got a set of twelve ornaments, each with a different zodiac sign’s constellation, painted on them with this special glow-in-the-dark paint. I also finished the Taurus blanket – it’s super soft and has this beautiful, embroidered constellation on it. And the Gemini phone case? It turned out even better than I expected, with the silver stars really popping against the blue background. I’m still working on the other gift ideas, but I’m feeling pretty good about them.
So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. Turning this little idea about astrology and Christmas into a full-blown project. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m excited to see how my friends react to these gifts. Who knows, maybe I’ll even start selling them online or something. But for now, I’m just enjoying the process of creating something from scratch, and, hopefully, making something that’s a bit more meaningful than your average store-bought gift. It’s about the stars, you know? And a little bit of Christmas magic, I guess.
Some Stuff I Made:
- Zodiac Ornaments: Clear glass balls, glow-in-the-dark paint, each with a different constellation.
- Taurus Blanket: Super soft fabric, embroidered Taurus constellation.
- Gemini Phone Case: Deep blue with silver stars, Gemini twins design.
Still working on the rest, but it’s coming along!
