Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into astrology lately, and one area that really caught my attention was the 7th house, especially when Cancer is involved. I’m no expert, but I’ve been playing around with my own chart and those of some friends, and here’s what I’ve been up to.
Getting Started: Finding the 7th House
First things first, I had to figure out where the 7th house even is in a birth chart. I used some free online chart calculators – typed in the birth date, time, and location, and boom, there it was. The 7th house is the one directly opposite the 1st house (which is your Ascendant, or Rising sign).
Cancer in the 7th? What’s That Mean?
So, when Cancer is in the 7th house, it supposedly brings a whole lot of emotional and nurturing energy to partnerships. I read up on this a bunch. I went to my astrology books to find out more infomation.
- Deep Connections: People with this placement are said to crave really deep, emotional connections in their relationships.
- Homebodies: The home and family are often super important. Think cozy nights in, rather than wild nights out.
- Sensitivity: There’s a potential for being extra sensitive to the moods and needs of their partners.
Putting it to the Test: My Little Experiment
I decided to get my hands dirty. I started by looking at my own chart. Then I did a test about my friend’s chart.
I focused on any planets I have in the 7th house, and how they interact with Cancer’s energy.
Next, I roped in a couple of friends who were willing to let me poke around their charts (with their permission, of course!). I looked to see if their 7th house was ruled by Cancer, and then I kind of… interviewed them. I asked about their relationship styles, what they look for in a partner, and how they handle conflict.
My (Very Unscientific) Findings
Okay, this wasn’t exactly a scientific study. But I did notice some interesting things. My friends with Cancer in the 7th house did seem to value emotional security and closeness A LOT. One friend talked about how important it was for her to feel “at home” with her partner. Another mentioned needing a partner who was really in tune with his feelings. They did match the typical Cancer traits in the infomation I read before.
Still Learning!
I’m definitely still figuring all this out. There are aspects (the angles between planets), other house placements, and a whole bunch of other stuff that can change the picture. And, honestly, every person is unique! But it’s been a fun little project, and it’s definitely made me think more about the role of emotions and nurturing in relationships.
