Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into astrology lately, like really deep. And I thought, why not document my little experiment with interpreting my own chart placements? I went with “Cancer Sun, Libra Moon, Sagittarius Rising”. Let’s see how this goes, step-by-step, from beginning to the very end.

Getting Started
First, I grabbed my birth chart. I already knew my birth time (super important!), so I popped that info into one of those free online calculators. Boom! There it was, my cosmic blueprint. Or at least, a simplified version of it.
The Sun in Cancer
Next, I focused on my Sun sign. Cancer. Okay, I already kinda knew this meant I’m, well, emotional. Sensitive. Homebody-ish. I jotted down some initial thoughts:
- Prone to mood swings (yup, guilty)
- Loves a cozy night in
- Super attached to family/close friends
- Can be a bit clingy… (working on it!)
The Moon in Libra
Then, I moved on to my Moon sign: Libra. This is all about your inner emotional world. Libra is all about balance, harmony, and relationships. So, I started thinking about how this plays out with my Cancer Sun. I wrote down:
- Craves peace and avoids conflict (sometimes to my detriment)
- Loves being in a partnership
- Can be indecisive – weighing all the options, all the time!
- Values fairness and justice
The Rising Sign Shenanigans
Finally, I looked at my Rising sign, also known as the Ascendant: Sagittarius. This is the mask you wear, how you present yourself to the world. Sagittarius is adventurous, optimistic, and loves freedom. This seemed to be in total contrast to what I had, so I note down:
- Appear more outgoing and carefree than on the inside.
- Probably I look optimistic to everybody.
- Maybe this means I’m funnier and more philosophical than my inner self believes.
- May have a restless energy.
Putting It All Together (The Messy Part)
This is where it got interesting. I tried to synthesize all these different parts of my chart. Like, how does a home-loving Cancer Sun vibe with a freedom-loving Sagittarius Rising? And how does that Libra Moon, always seeking balance, fit in? I basically realized that the three parts don’t necessarily go together well.
So, instead of a neat little package, I ended up with a bunch of contradictions. But hey, that’s life, right? We’re all a bit messy and complex. I guess what I’m realizing I did by the end is a very surface level study on the chart.
I finished the experiment and it turned out a lot messier than I thought it would be, maybe I will pick it up another time.
