Okay, so I’ve been getting into tarot lately, and I wanted to try out this “three cups” spread I saw online. I’m still a total newbie, but it sounded simple enough, so I figured, why not? I grabbed my deck – it’s a pretty standard Rider-Waite one, nothing fancy – and shuffled it while trying to clear my mind. That’s the hardest part, honestly, trying to not think about anything specific. My brain is always going a mile a minute.
Getting Started
I shuffled, shuffled, and shuffled some more, until it felt “right,” whatever that means. Then I cut the deck into three piles, like the instructions said, and put them back together. Finally, time to lay out the cards!
The Layout
- Card 1: This one is supposed to represent the “past.” I laid it down on the left.
- Card 2: This is the “present” card, so it went in the middle.
- Card 3: And this last one is the “future,” placed on the right.
So, I flipped over the first card, the past. It was the Queen of Swords.I looked up the * means to be independent. Cool, I guess.
Then, the present card – The Star, upright. That also means to have hope and faith. Okay, I’m feeling pretty good about that! Sounds like things are looking up.
Finally, the future card…I flipped it over…it was the reversed * means I might get dissapointed. Oh, great. Just what I wanted to see.
My Interpretation (or Attempt, Anyway)
So, I sat there for a while, staring at these three cards, trying to figure out what it all * that I have got my indepence.
And now,I am so hopeful and faithful, and I’m about to get a big setback?
It’s a little discouraging, but honestly, who knows? It’s just a card reading afterall. It maybe total nonsense.I’ll just have to wait and see what happens, I guess. But it was still a fun little experiment, even if the future card was a bit of a downer.
I’m thinking of trying another spread tomorrow. Maybe a bigger one this time. We’ll see how it goes!
