Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole “sun, moon, rising” thing in astrology. My chart is Sag sun, Pisces moon, which I guess makes me a bit of a walking contradiction. I wanted to see if I could feel the difference, you know? Like, actually experience these energies separately.

The Sagittarius Experiment
First, I decided to lean hard into my Sagittarius sun. You know, the adventurous, freedom-loving, say-yes-to-everything side. I figured, what better way to do that than to just…go?
- Spontaneous Road Trip: I literally threw a dart at a map (okay, a digital map on my phone) and decided to drive wherever it landed. Ended up in this tiny town I’d never heard of, exploring some random hiking trail. Total Sag move.
- Saying “Yes”: Someone asked me to try some weird food? Yes. Random street performer needed a volunteer? Yes. Impromptu karaoke night? Absolutely, yes. I just embraced every opportunity that came my way.
- No Plans, No Problem: I usually like to have at least a rough itinerary, but for this experiment, I ditched the planning altogether. Just winged it. It was surprisingly liberating…most of the time.
It was fun, honestly. I felt this rush of energy, this excitement about the unknown. I met some cool people, saw some weird stuff, and generally felt like I was living life to the fullest. But, it also felt…surface-level. Like I was skimming across the top of things, not really connecting deeply.
The Pisces Dive
Then, it was time to switch gears and embrace my Pisces moon. This one was…different. More internal, for sure.
- Meditation Marathon: I’m not usually a big meditator, but I decided to really commit. Like, hours a day. Just sitting, breathing, trying to tune into…whatever was there.
- Creative Flow: I busted out my old art supplies, the ones I haven’t touched in ages. Didn’t try to make anything “good,” just let whatever wanted to come out, come out. Lots of watercolors and messy scribbles.
- Emotional Deep Dive: This was the hard part. Instead of running from my feelings (like I kinda tend to do), I let myself feel them. The good, the bad, the ugly. Lots of journaling, lots of tears, lots of just…being with myself.
- Solitude Seeking: I retreated. Big time. Canceled plans, turned off my phone, just spent time alone. It was…intense.
I’ve got to tell you, it is very different from the sag experiment.
I am feeling that I am more sensitive, and connected with my *’s like a calm and quiet world inside my mind.
The Aftermath
So, after ping-ponging between these two extremes, what did I learn? Well, I definitely felt the difference. The Sag energy was all outward, expansive, and energetic. The Pisces energy was inward, reflective, and…well, emotional as heck.
The biggest takeaway? I need both. The Sag sun keeps me from getting lost in the depths of my Pisces moon, and the Pisces moon keeps me from becoming a total, ungrounded Sagittarian space cadet. It’s a balancing act, for sure, but it’s my balancing act. And now, I at least have a better sense of what each part of me needs.
