Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Tarot cards lately, and today I pulled The Hierophant reversed. I’m still pretty new to this, so I wanted to really dig in and see what it could mean for me, right now, in my actual life.
Getting Started
First, I cleared my space. I’m a big believer in energy, so I lit some incense (just some basic sandalwood, nothing fancy) and made sure the room was quiet. No TV, no music, just me and the cards. I shuffled my deck a few times, really trying to focus on what’s been going on in my life lately.
The Draw
I cut the deck and flipped over the top card… and there it was: The Hierophant, but upside down. My first reaction was, “Uh oh.” I mean, even without knowing much, reversed cards usually mean something’s blocked or not going smoothly, you know?
Figuring It Out
I grabbed my go-to Tarot book – it’s a super simple one for beginners. It talked about the reversed Hierophant as a challenge to traditional structures, maybe questioning authority or feeling restricted by rules. I started to think about where that might fit in my life.
- I have been feeling really stifled at work lately. It’s all very “by the book,” and my boss isn’t exactly open to new ideas.
- I’ve also been questioning some of the “shoulds” in my life. Like, why am I doing things this way just because that’s how everyone else does it?
Making it Personal
I then spent 10 minutes to mediate this card.
So, instead of just reading the book’s interpretation, I started journaling. I wrote down everything that came to mind about:
- Authority
- Rules
- Tradition
- My Own Beliefs
I realized I’ve been letting other people’s expectations dictate a lot of my choices. I’m so worried about doing things the “right” way that I haven’t been listening to my own intuition. This card felt like a wake-up call.
What I’m Gonna Do
This reading wasn’t about predicting the future; it was about understanding myself better. The reversed Hierophant, for me, is a push to:
- Speak up more at work, even if my ideas go against the grain.
- Explore different ways of doing things, outside of what’s considered “normal.”
- Trust my gut more, even if it means breaking a few “rules.”
It’s not going to be easy, but it feels… right. It’s like the card is saying, “Hey, you’re not stuck. You have the power to create your own path.” And that’s a pretty cool message to get, even from an upside-down card.
