Okay, so the other day, I was messing around with my tarot cards, trying to get a quick “yes” or “no” answer to a question that was bugging me. You know, sometimes you just need a straight answer without all the detailed explanations a full tarot reading gives you. So, I thought, why not try the “yes or no” method? I’d heard about it, but never actually tried it myself. I will share what I did and my entire progress.

First, I grabbed my deck and gave it a good shuffle, thinking hard about my question. It had to be something that could be answered with a simple “yes” or “no.” Then, I spread the cards out on my table. Some people like to just pull a card from the deck, but I like seeing them all laid out in front of me. It’s like they’re all there, waiting to give me an answer.
Then, I closed my eyes for a second, took a deep breath, and let my hand hover over the cards. I wasn’t really thinking, just letting my intuition guide me. When I felt a pull, I picked a card. That was it. Now, the tricky part: figuring out which cards mean “yes” and which mean “no.”
I went online and found a bunch of lists. It’s pretty cool how many people have thought about this and have their own interpretations. I decided to make my own list, based on what I found and my own feelings about the cards. Here’s a part of what I came up with:
My Yes Cards:
- The Sun: This one’s a no-brainer. It’s all about positivity and good vibes, so definitely a “yes.”
- The Star: Hope and inspiration? Yeah, that’s a “yes” for me.
- The World: Completion and success. Another clear “yes.”
- Ace of Wands: New beginnings and potential. I took this as a “yes.”
- Three of Cups: Celebration and friendship. Felt like a “yes” to my question.
- Six of Cups: This one can be about nostalgia, but I also see it as a “yes” because it reminds me of good times and happy memories.
- Ten of Cups: Emotional fulfillment and happiness. For sure a “yes.”
- Ace of Pentacles: New opportunities, especially financial ones. I took this as a “yes.”
- Nine of Pentacles: This card is about enjoying the rewards of your hard work. It felt like a “yes” to me.
- Ten of Pentacles: Financial security and family. Another strong “yes.”
- The Emperor: Represents stability and control, so I interpret this as a “yes” in most situations.
- The Chariot: About overcoming obstacles and achieving victory. For me, this is usually a “yes.”
- Strength: Inner strength and courage. In many contexts, I see this as a “yes.”
- Temperance: Balance and harmony. This usually feels like a “yes” to me.
- Wheel of Fortune: Change and good luck. I often interpret this as a “yes.”
- Judgment: Making a decision and moving forward. It can be a “yes” if you’re ready for it.
My No Cards:
- The Tower: Sudden change and upheaval. Usually a “no” for me.
- The Devil: Feeling trapped or stuck. That’s a “no.”
- Five of Swords: Conflict and arguments. Definitely a “no.”
- Seven of Swords: Deception and betrayal. Another clear “no.”
- Nine of Swords: Anxiety and worry. That’s a “no.”
- Ten of Swords: Endings and loss. Usually a “no.”
- Five of Pentacles: Financial hardship and insecurity. A “no” in most cases.
- Seven of Pentacles: Feeling like your efforts aren’t paying off. Can be a “no” if you’re looking for quick results.
- The Hierophant: Tradition and conformity. I often see this as a “no” if you’re trying to break the mold.
- The Hermit: Withdrawal and introspection. Can be a “no” if you’re seeking connection.
- Justice: While about fairness, it can also indicate consequences, so it’s not always a clear “yes” or “no.” Sometimes, it’s a “no.”
- Death: Transformation and endings. Often a “no” to the current situation, but it can be a “yes” to something new.
- The Moon: Confusion and uncertainty. Usually a “no” for me.
My Maybe Cards:
- The Fool: New beginnings, but also uncertainty. It’s a wild card, so it could go either way.
- The Magician: Having the power to manifest, but it depends on how you use it.
- The High Priestess: Intuition and hidden knowledge. She doesn’t give straight answers.
- The Empress: Nurturing and abundance. It depends on what you’re asking.
- The Lovers: Choices and relationships. It could be a “yes” or a “no” depending on the context.
- Two of Swords: Indecision and being at a crossroads. Classic “maybe.”
- Four of Swords: Rest and recovery. It’s not a clear “yes” or “no.”
- Eight of Swords: Feeling trapped, but often by your own thoughts. It’s a “maybe” because you can change your perspective.
- Three of Pentacles: Collaboration and teamwork. The outcome depends on the people involved.
- Eight of Pentacles: Hard work and dedication. The result depends on your efforts.
I wrote down my “yes,” “no,” and “maybe” cards, and then looked at the card I’d pulled. Boom. There was my answer. It was surprisingly accurate, at least for that question. It has always worked for me. I’ve been doing this for a while now, and it’s become a fun little way to get quick insights. I even keep a little notebook where I jot down the questions I ask and the answers I get. It’s interesting to go back and see how things turned out.
Anyway, that’s how I do it. It’s not rocket science, but it’s a fun little exercise. If you’re into tarot, give it a try! You might be surprised by what you discover.
